Gene J. Goldberg, CPA
Gene Goldberg is managing partner of Goldberg Mechales Charneske & Schiffman, Ltd. Certified Public Accountants.
Gene received a BS in accounting in 1960 from DePaul University and became a Certified Public Accountant in the same year. Upon graduation he went into the US Army as a second lieutenant in the infantry. He completed his military obligation in 1968 being discharged as a captain. Gene has over 37 years of accounting experience and has had offices in Illinois and California. Thanks to Gene, our firm was a pioneer in the installation and use of computer systems. He bought our first computer system in-house in 1972 and in 1975 we were the first CPA firm in this area to have an in-house multi-user system (PICK system). Gene has served for two years on the insurance committee of the Illinois CPA Society as well as a past president of the Northbrook Continuing Professional Education Group.
